David and Hawaii

Camp David Accords, Puzzle by Fred Piscop, edited by Will Shortz
If you subscribe to The New York Times on-line Premium Crosswords, you are probably familiar with the monthly puzzle. For the month of
September, the title of the crossword is Camp David Accords and features "David" in approximately 30 clues.
The title for the crossword may be somewhat misleading in that David is a stand-alone, except for SINAI (9D. Region that was a topic of the 1978 Camp David talks) -- no, it’s not even an anniversary -- here’s

The bonus crossword for August, titled Fifty Years of Hawaiian Statehood, did not get posted here during that month, but the print-out of the crossword appears below. It is one of the finest bonus crosswords to appear in the Times this year, filled with references to Hawaii, including many crossword favorites and many that are new. To see them all in one puzzle was a real treat -- even if one does not work the puzzle, it is worth a read! A belated happy fiftieth to
