12.03.13 — Horse Tack

Tack is a piece of equipment or accessory equipped on horses in the course of their use as domesticated animals. Saddles, stirrups, bridles, halters, reins, bits, harnesses, martingales, and breastplates are all forms of horse tack. Equipping a horse is often referred to as tacking up. A room to store such equipment, usually near or in a stable, is a tack room. ~ Wikipedia

  1. The New York Times Crossword needs copy editors. This one contained an inaccurate clue.

    47 across: Nestlé bar BITOHONEY

Hasn't been true for a while. In May of 2013, Nestlé sold the Bit-O-Honey brand to the Pearson's Candy Co. of St. Paul.
