In this strange Sunday crossword, I M P L A N T S spelled out in circled letters running through eight answers alters eight phrases (e.g., counts noses, lip service, rabbit ears, chicken fingers, takes on the chin, brow-beaten, face powder, palm readers), and not incidentally implants in eight body parts (e.g., nose, lip, ear, finger, chin, brow, face and palm) into oh-gosh-silly new ones with question-mark clues:

Mobador Sez:
Wow!, never thought I’d draw one of those on a crossword, but well hey it’s the 21st century and puzzles’ve gotta keep up! Whoa! I had a hard time of it at the start with EROICA, but “Psycho” came to mind and the aforementioned just popped right out like an old friend. LIMP SERVICE gave me more trouble than I’d like to say, but in the end, the clue is still better than the answer. I gotta look up this ENOCH before the next Rapture comes if I get the time and have anything left after doodling on puzzles!
