White does not have shades. We all know there's fifty shades of grey. ;-) No one has yet counted all the shades, tints and tones of off-white as that number is infinite.
Here's the relevant entry from Simon & Schuster's Webster's New World Dictionary 3rd Ed. on the word "pearl": 'The color of some pearls, a bluish gray.'
White is also not a color, but you can have various effects and glosses such as metallic, porcelain enamel, matte and flat.
